Which Toobit rate should I check when a VIP Trial Pass expires?

Align receipt, activation, expiry and execution timestamps in one timezone. Check the tier and covered product for the actual fill rather than relying only on the order-entry screen.

Reading your fills after a pass ends

The day after a pass expires, compare a few fills against both the pass tier and your normal tier. If a fill you expected at the pass rate shows the normal rate, check its execution timestamp against the pass end time before contacting support. In most cases the timestamp explains it.

How Toobit assigns your VIP level

Toobit's fee page says VIP status is assigned automatically from the highest tier you reach on any of three criteria:

  • Account asset balance in USDT
  • 30-day futures trading volume
  • 30-day spot trading volume

Its example: a trader whose balance qualifies for VIP2 but whose 30-day spot volume qualifies for VIP3 is assigned VIP3. Three notes follow on the same page: VIP levels update daily at 00:00 UTC; sub-accounts share the main account's VIP level and fee structure; and fees apply based on the VIP level when the order executes.

Why "level at execution" matters

Picture a resting limit order placed while you are VIP1. Overnight the 00:00 UTC refresh moves you to VIP0, and the order fills the next morning. It is charged at VIP0. The reverse also happens: an order that fills after an upgrade benefits from the lower rate. The longer an order rests, the less certain you can be about which tier will price it.

Partial fills follow the same logic. Toobit's futures fee article explains that when an order fills through several executions, the fee is calculated separately for each fill. If those fills straddle the daily refresh, different pieces of one order can be priced at different tiers.

Reading a VIP Trial Pass correctly

According to Toobit's voucher guide, a VIP Trial Pass gives you the trading fee rates and related benefits of the VIP level shown on the pass for a limited time. The conditions it lists:

  • The pass takes effect immediately after you claim it.
  • It cannot be paused or extended.
  • It cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
  • Only one VIP Trial Pass can be active at a time.

The practical trap is obvious once stated. Claim a pass on a day you do not plan to trade and its clock simply runs down. And a limit order placed near the end of the pass that fills after expiry is likely to be priced at your normal tier, because execution time is what counts. Check the exact end time in the voucher details rather than estimating it.

Which markets a discount can touch

Toobit's fee page states that spot trading is commission-free, but that spot pairs in the Innovation Zone are excluded from that zero-fee policy and follow their own VIP-based schedule. The published Innovation Zone VIP0 rates are 0.0750% maker and 0.1000% taker.

If you only trade standard spot pairs, a VIP Trial Pass offers essentially no fee saving. Decide which row describes your actual trading before deciding a pass is valuable.

A hypothetical comparison: when to claim

The rates below are invented for illustration and are not Toobit's.

  • Hypothetical normal taker rate: 0.06%
  • Hypothetical pass-tier taker rate: 0.04%
  • Planned futures fills: day 1 = 30,000 USDT, day 2 = none, day 3 = 20,000 USDT
  • Hypothetical pass length: 48 hours from claim. Day 1 fills occur at 10:00, day 2 claims at 09:00, and day 3 fills at 11:00; a day 1 claim is at 09:00. These assumed timestamps make the expiry comparisons explicit.

Scenario 1 — claim on day 1 before trading

  • Day 1: 30,000 × 0.04% = 12 USDT (instead of 18)
  • Day 3 falls after expiry: 20,000 × 0.06% = 12 USDT
  • Total 24 USDT versus 30 USDT with no pass — a 6 USDT saving

Scenario 2 — claim on day 2, a non-trading day

  • Day 1: 30,000 × 0.06% = 18 USDT
  • Day 3 within the pass: 20,000 × 0.04% = 8 USDT
  • Total 26 USDT — a 4 USDT saving

Scenario 3 — claim just after day 3's trading

  • Saving: 0 USDT

The same pass is worth 6, 4 or 0 USDT depending only on when it is claimed. The aim is to overlap the pass with fills you already planned, not to add trades to "use" it.

A checking routine

  1. On Toobit's official fee page, find the row for your market: futures, standard spot, or Innovation Zone.
  2. In your account's VIP view, note your current tier and remember the next refresh is at 00:00 UTC.
  3. If you hold a pass, read its tier, start and end times, and eligible markets in the voucher details.
  4. After trading, open your trade history and check each fill's fee against the tier you expected.
  5. Keep any payback separate. TradePayback's displayed conditions for Toobit are on the Toobit detail page.

FAQ

If my VIP level changes between placing and filling an order, which one applies?

Toobit states that fees are based on the VIP level when the order executes. Because levels refresh at 00:00 UTC daily, a long-resting order may be priced at the post-refresh level.

Can I claim a VIP Trial Pass now and use it later?

Toobit's voucher guide says the pass takes effect immediately on claim and cannot be paused or extended, so claim it when your planned trading begins.

Does a pass help if I only trade standard spot?

Standard spot is commission-free per Toobit's fee page, so there is little or nothing to save. A pass matters for markets that carry fees, such as futures or Innovation Zone pairs.
